Deadline to submit proposals for changes to the technical rules of diving or the USA Diving code is August 15

If you wish to submit proposals to amend either the Technical Rules of Diving or the USA Diving Code, the proposals must be submitted in the form and by the deadline set forth in Article 48 of the Code.

REMINDER: In even number years, ie. 2008, a proposal to amend the Rules or the Code must receive an 85% affirmative vote in committee and then be approved by a 90% affirmative vote of the General Assembly.

Here is the Code provision regarding the time for submission and the address and email addresses where proposals may be sent.

248.1 Deadline for Submission.

(a) Proposed Rules and Code changes will be accepted between 30 days after the conclusion of the Annual Meeting and midnight, Pacific Daylight Savings Time, on August 15 each year. These must be received by or date/time-stamped by the receiving server of the National Office, the Rules Chair, or the Governance Chair by the deadline.
